FAQ
You can send questions to education@processingfoundation.org. We will post questions and answers here as they come.
- Do I need to know programming or coding beforehand?
No, this program is tailored for beginners with no prior experience with code.
- I am a University professor or Computer Science professor, can I participate in this program?
For this first round of the Art + Code Teacher Camp, we are focusing on supporting K-12 education.
- I’m an art educator teaching non-digital media (ie. painting, photography), can I still apply?
Absolutely yes! We’re looking for an enthusiasm and interest in adding code to your existing arts curriculum, whatever medium it may be. The Art + Code Teacher Camp supports teachers of different backgrounds and expertise who can look at creative coding from their own unique perspective, and offer innovative or unique ways to teach with code in their classroom.
- What do you mean by creating a curriculum?
The goal of this training program is to create a unit or project that can be organically integrated into your existing curriculum (as well as address state, IB or AP standards you may currently be working with); this take the form of a live demo, workshop, tutorial, lesson plan, support materials or hands-on activities. We hope you can find ways or connection points to contribute to your existing expertise and curriculum.
